Police have seized millions of Rands worth of counterfeit goods at Dragon City in Fordsburg.
The joint operation comprising of police, brand owners, Sars and JMPD embarked on a raid on Wednesday following crime intelligence information that several shops were selling fake good goods.
More than 15 people were arrested during yesterday’s operation.
The police’s Mavela Masondo says it was found that some of them are in the country illegally.
“More than 15 people were arrested in today’s raids for offences ranging from possession of counterfeit goods to being illegal immigrants, illegal electricity connections were cut by Joburg City Power, while the estimated value of the seized goods is more than R10 million.”
Masondo says police are targeting more areas in Johannesburg and surrounding towns.
