It really angers me when terrorists carry out acts of terror by blowing themselves up, go on a mass shooting sprees all in the name of Islam.
One typical example is the recent mass shooting of 12 people at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo’s office in Paris.
Three men armed with Kalashnikovs stormed the building shouting Allahu-Akbar (God is Great) and murdered the people saying they avenged the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s death.
Showing my disdain for these cowardly acts I posted my feelings on social media and received a lot of comments for the following tweet I posted:
“The acts of these terrorists in name of Islam is despicable & cowardly. This is not a reflection of Muslims or Islam. I condemn the acts of these monsters.” #ParisShooting
One person commented by saying: “While I agree to an extent, why must we as Muslims always be apologetic? So many other acts of cowardice were done in the name of other religions yet other religions do not condemn .Why are we being sidelined....just saying.”
While another said: “those killed deserve what they got! They called it upon themselves and cannot be called innocent! Shame on the apologetic Muslims! Where is their anger when the Prophet SAW is mocked at!!!?”
I am not being apologetic. Why should I apologize for these maniacal terrorists?
They did not confer with me before committing these dastardly acts in the name of Islam. They just went and played God by taking the lives of 12 people.
Who are we to determine who deserves to die?
I am only angry that a couple of mad men go on a shooting spree mass murdering people in the name of Islam and Muslims. I can tell you that I do not agree or stand what these cowards did.
They also make it very difficult for us ordinary Muslims because we get labelled as extremists and terrorists and get suspicious stares wherever we travel.
I hate being called a terrorist or extremist or being the subject of a tirade of hate on social media where there is negative sentiment that all Muslims must be killed because a couple of looney's decided to wake up one morning and murder 12 people in the name of Islam.
Islam is perfect and some who claim to be Muslims are not.
I am not saying that Charlie Hebdo or its journalists are right in overstepping the boundaries of satire that evokes vicious anger, anti-Semitism, but is murder really the answer?
Sure they have totally insulted Islam and the greatest human who set foot on this earth but Even Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had mercy after he was stoned in Taif and his shoes were filled with blood and had been given a choice by Allah sent by an Angel to have the nation crushed between two mountains.
Surely Islam is a religion of peace and barbarism advocated by these so called "Muslims" is contradictory to the teachings of Islam and our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
After all he was sent as a mercy unto mankind, or have we forgotten that?
