Three-year-old Pippie Kruger is ready to be discharged from Netcare's Rehabilitation Hospital.

She will be discharged after undergoning 10 weeks of physical and occupational therapy.

The toddler suffered burns to 80 percent of her body after a bottle of fire gel exploded during a family braai on New Year’s Eve.

Pippie was given cloned skin grafts earlier this year, a first in South Africa.

Just one small wound on Pippie's neck still needed to close, but doctors say that the skin grafts had taken splendidly.

The road to a full recovery, is still a long way ahead, but her doctors are pleased with the progress.
