Arafat Day Sermon to be Made Available in 10 Languages

This year the Arafat Day sermon is to be translated into 10 languages. The Day of Arafat is considered the most important day of the Hajj. Pilgrims gather on the desert planes of Arafat, near the Holy city of Makkah, to pray to Allah the Almighty, and to plead for forgiveness and redemption.

Previously, the sermon had been translated into 5 languages. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, chief of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, had issued the instruction for an increase in the number of languages the sermon be translated into, so that the message of Islam could be shared with the widest possible audience.

The Saudi Gazette reports that Hajj 2020 will see the sermon translated into English, Malay, Urdu, Persian, French, Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Hausa and Bengali. According to the Gazette, the sermon will be available on an Arafat Sermon app as well as on the Manarat Al-Haramain platform.
