Durban police are appealing to members of the community for assistance in solving a contempt of court matter after a 46-year-old woman absconded with her child.

It’s believed that Kalavani Moodley left Denmark with her four-year-old son, Sebastian Moodley Soerensen in September last year for a holiday and hasn’t been seen since.

The police’s Thembeka Mbele has appealed to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kalavani to contact the police.

“She informed her former husband that she was going to South Africa for a holiday. She has not returned after an instruction from court that she had to return the child to his father.”

Mbele says Kalavani  is believed to be in the vicinity of Chatsworth or Umdloti area.
