Kishore Badal to Run as Candidate in Lenasia with Action SA Ahead of Local Government Elections in October

Former Lenasia Democratic Alliance (DA) ward councillor Kishore Badal has announced that he will be running as a candidate in the suburb during the local government elections which takes place on 27 October.

Badal who resigned from the DA last year is now part of former Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba’s newly formed political party Action SA.

Badal joined the DA Joburg Caucus in 2016, and served the residents of Ward 9 in Lenasia.

Badal who served his constituent relatively well during his tenure, is hoping to address the issues in the suburb if elected.

“I have decided to return to ward politics and I will be standing with Action SA. I believe that Action produces or gives a new fresher look at politics and municipal values as such.  I am looking forward to residents supporting me, because I will go all out again to do the best I can with the resources that I have so that we as residents in Lenasia can be better off.”

Lenasia has been plagued by the mushrooming of informal settlements, constant electricity outages, service delivery issues and high crime rate with residents demanding less talk and more action to rejuvenate the suburb.
