Lenasians have been left distraught following the passing of Marhoom Muhammad Yusuf aka Uncle Baboo Kaka.

Uncle Baboo as he is fondly known to many in Lenasia passed away on Tuesday.

He was a frequent visitor to Radio Islam studios and loved by the staff and many others for his humble personality and service and dedication to the Muslim ummah.

Radio Islam’s Ml Sulaimaan Ravat says the passing of Uncle Baboo Kaka is a huge loss to the Lenasia community and surrounds.

“He was almost part of the staff here at Radio Islam International. He would really be here almost every other day. Always assisting with community work. Many would know him to be very involved with the Lenasia Eidgah which is one of the bigger Eidgah’s in our country. Involved at a great level in that, he used to lay out the carpets, he used make all the arrangements in terms of ensuring that the carpets are laid out for the saffs.”

Ml Ravat says all the deaths that we are witnessing is reminder for us that death can come at any time.

“It could be as a result of COVID or something else. It could be that it comes to a young person or elderly person. All of us should be prepared all of the time for what is inevitable and that is death. May Allah make it such that when our final day comes, that it is the best day of our lives, it’s a dua we should make.”

Uncle Baboo Bhai Kaka will be buried at the Avalon Cemetery in Lenasia.
