Muezzins to Recite Eid Takbeeraat from Saudi Mosques

In Saudi Arabia, muezzins will be allowed to pronounce the Eid takbeeraat over the loudspeaker systems in all mosques across the Kingdom. This will be done after the predawn or Fajr prayer, until the time of the Eid prayer without actually holding the prayer itself.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, early on Friday called on all imams in the kingdom not to hold Eid prayers in mosques and other prayer areas.

The move is in line with the provisional suspension of gatherings in mosques as part of the precautionary measures that the Ministry has implemented to stop the spread of the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia.
