Niravana Secondary School in Lenasia has confirmed that a learner has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, the principal says the learner has not been at school since Friday 19 June, but did attend SSIP classes at Trinity Secondary School on Saturday and Sunday.

“The school has complied with all the necessary protocols and informed the Department of Health as well as the district office and the Department of Basic Education. As a precautionary measure, the school will close for decontamination with immediate effect. I will inform you when the school will reopen.”

The principle says SSIP at Trinity Secondary School has also been suspended until further notice.

Nirvana has urged parents to observe their children’s health and monitor any symptoms of the Coronavirus.
