Police Hunting Tanker Driver After 13 People Including Unborn Baby Killed in KZN Horror Crash

Police are searching for a truck driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash on the R33 highway in KwaZulu-Natal that claimed the lives of 13 people including an unborn baby.

A fuel tanker crashed into a minibus taxi on Tuesday morning after the driver allegedly failed to stop at a crossing.

The police’s Thembeka Mbele says they are still searching for the driver.

“Cases of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving as well as failure to stop after an accident have been opened for investigation.”

Mbele has appealed to anyone with information to contact the police.
