By Naadiya Adams Twitter: @Miss_Naadiya

DA leader Solly Msimanga is in hot water, footage of him has gone viral on Twitter. In the video, Msimanga is anxiously making a phone call, while blood runs down his face – after apparently being beaten up by an unidentified man who can be heard on the clip.

The man, who is also recording the video, claims that Msimanga owes him money and accuses him of stealing.

Msimanga, can be seen making a phone call to the police while the unknown man consistently shouts at him. The location of the incident seems to be in a warehouse or machine workshop as forklifts are visible in the footage.

“You owe me money and i want it,” says the man in the clip.

“Where did you get the money you paid into JD?”, asks the man aggressively.

JD Forklifts, which is based east of Johannesburg in Brakpan, does repairs and maintenance for forklifts.

“I came in to beat you, you are a liar and a thief,” said the man to a bloody Msimanga.

“And this is what happens to liars and thieves, Solly. You are a thief” continued the man. “And you’re not going to turn this into a political storm, for yourself, in my direction.”

“You owe me money and I want it,” said the man, to which Msimang replied, “I owe you money?”

Msimanga allegedly owes the unknown man in the video R1.4 million rand and accuses the politician of hitting him first.

According to SABC journalist, Samkele Maseko, the funds were deposited in JD Forklifts account, of which Msimanga is an alleged director.

However, a video released after the incident stated that the issue has been resolved and no moneys are owed.
